Michael Stancil, PLPC
I am a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) who earned my Master’s and Specialist’s Degrees in Counselor Education, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Florida. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association.
I have worked with adolescent and adult individuals as well as couples in both Florida and Louisiana. I specialize in couple’s counseling, but also enjoy working with individuals dealing with stress, depression, anxiety and I have internship experience working with OCD. I am a firm believer that clients are the experts on themselves and are capable of making the best decisions that will improve or enhance their lives. I take a strength-based approach that incorporates, thoughts, behaviors, and the environmental context when counseling clients.
Before working at Magnolia Family Counseling, my previous work experience includes working at a private practice in Gainesville, Florida and I currently also work at Family Service of Greater New Orleans.
I hold both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Florida. I am a native of Florida and recently relocated to the New Orleans area with my wife, Leah, and children Noah, Emma, and Grace.
